Jake Elleberger Makes Quick Work Of Jake Shields

|

In a battle of Jake vs. Jake, Jake Ellenberger made very very quick work of Jake Shields. Just fifty-three seconds into the first round Ellenberger lands a devastating knee to the body and then a knee to the head. He followed up with some ground and pound which forced the referee stoppage.

This is a huge victory for Ellenberger who couldn’t explain how he felt following the victory. Ellenberger shows that he is a serious force in the welterweight division with this decisive win.

Shields thought the fight was ended early as he was still ready to fight, but that is the way it goes sometimes. Whether or not this was a mental thing with Shields’ father passing away just three weeks ago, who knows?

Ellenberger is on a 5 fight win streak with his only UFC loss to current number one contender Carlos Condit. His MMA record is 25-5. Shields moves to 1-2 in the UFC and 26-6 in his MMA career.
