Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com brought word of the fighters hospitalization and the following quote from his manager Jason House.

“Shane had a catastrophic cardiovascular collapse at home on Tuesday morning. He was brought to the hospital in full cardiac arrest. He was resuscitated in the emergency room back to a stable heart rhythm and blood pressure. He is currently in the coronary care unit critically ill. Our prayers are with him and his family.”

The 30-year old was expected to fight at next month’s UFC 168 event against Guto Inocente, but was forced to withdraw from the bout due to an injury.

Since coming over from Strikeforce del Rosario has not been able to find his groove and is currently riding a two-fight losing streak. The UFC 168 bout would have been his first fight in 2013 – he was expected to face Dave Herman at UFC 162 in June, but pulled out due to injury.

No word on the current state of del Rosario, but keep it locked to MMASucka.com for further details as they arise.
