On Monday there were plenty of April Fools jokes going around, but the best one amongst the MMA community was Wanderlei Silva’s. He took to twitter early on Monday to announce that he was fighting Gegard Mousasi at this Saturday’s UFC on FUEL TV 9 fight card, as Alexander Gustafsson had fallen The UG took down the Wanderlei postout due to injury.

The part about Gustafsson being injured was not the joke, as he received a cut above his left eye during wrestling training. Sources close to his camp informed MMASucka.com that he will no longer be able to compete in the match-up, however the UFC has stated that the fight is still on.
Today “The Axe Murderer” took to his official Instagram account and let people know that it was “the best April first ever!!”

The main event according to most is still up in the air, however until the UFC officially announces it, we will expect Gustafsson vs. Mousasi this Saturday night.
