Official Results for ROAD FC 008: The Final Four – Bitter Rivals

By Thinesh John

ROAD Fighting Championship recently held its 8th event, titled ‘The Final Four – Bitter Rivals’ at the Chiak Gymnasium in Wonju, South Korea, this past weekend.

The South Korean promotion showcased a total of 11 fights, with the 2 featured attractions being the semi-final and final bouts of the inaugural Bantamweight Tournament.

Undoubtedly the match-up that everybody was eagerly anticipating was, Andrew Leone to take on South Korean Kyung Ho Kang in the Bantamweight Tournament final after the American decisioned Min Jung Song in the 2nd semi-final tilt of the night. Kang, on the other hand, secured his ticket to the finals by submitting Jae Hoon Moon.

Leone tried his best to overcome the physically bigger Kyung Ho Kang in the final but the latter proved to be too much for his opponent, forcing the referee to stop the fight in the 2nd stanza. Kang was therefore crowned the first ever ROAD FC Bantamweight Tournament Champion.

Elsewhere, former PRIDE and K-1 veteran Bob Sapp was also in action against South Korean, Jong Dae Kim. Kim ended the fight via TKO, in 1:58 of the 2nd round. Sapp is now on a 9-fight losing streak which stretches all the way back to March, last year.
