ONE Championship Announces Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix

One Championship has recently announced an eight-woman Grand Prix in their atomweight division. Singaporean-owned ONE Championship announces an exciting lineup of eight women representing eight countries. This tournament kicks off on May 28. No venue or brackets announced yet.

The One Championship Eight Atomweights

From Korea, she is currently ranked #1 in atomweight internationally on Tapology and Sherdog Seo Hee Ham (23-8) known as “Hamderlei Silva.” Primarily she is a kickboxing focused fighter and fought in the UFC‘s strawweight division. In her last fight, she defeated Rizin FF atomweight champion Ayaka Hamasaki. Seo Hee Ham has competed for championships in DEEP Jewels, Rizin FF, and ROAD FC. She will now have an opportunity to gain the One atomweight championship.

Nong Stamp, commonly known as Stamp Fairtex (5-1) is a golden girl of One Championship. From Thailand originally, and only age 23, she has held the One Championship title for kickboxing and Muay Thai. In kickboxing, she has a record of (4-2). Most recently she lost her unbeaten streak in a submission loss to Alyona Rassohnya who is also competing in this tournament.

Alyona Rassohnya (13-4) made an emphatic debut in One Championship when she defeated Fairtex in their main events fight in February. She is a Ukrainian submission specialist having 85% of her victories by way of submission.

Meng Bo (16-5) representing China is currently is only aged 24 and currently on a 7 fight win streak. Meng Bo made her MMA debut, in 2013, by defeating current UFC champion Weili Zhang.

From Japan, the 21-year-old undefeated Itsuki Hirata (7-0) will be looking to continue her unbeaten streak in One. She’s finished all of her opponents by submission or TKO. “Strong Heart Fighter” Hirata started training Judo at the age of 6 and will be aiming for gold.

“The Indian Tigress” Ritu Phogat (4-0) also undefeated has finished 75% of her bouts via KO/TKO. Born Balali, Haryana, India she started in women’s freestyle wrestling of which in 2016 she won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship.

Karate-focused Filipina fighter Denice “The Menace” Zamboanga (6-0) will also be aiming for One Championship gold. Despite her karate background most of her wins are by submission, and she is looking to remain undefeated.

Alyse “Lil’ Savage” Anderson (5-1) representing the United States will be making her One Championship debut. She is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt, trains under Xtreme Couture, and previously fought in Invicta FC.
