ONE: No Surrender Recap

ONE: No Surrender emanated from Bangkok on July 31 as ONE Championship returned for its first marquee event since the global pandemic known as COVID-19 changed lives around the globe.

The event was headlined by two Muay Thai title tilts and featured the return of Stamp Fairtex to mixed martial arts competition.

In the main event, Rodtang Jitmuangnon edged out Petchdam Petchyindee Academy by majority decision. The Thai champion kept his ONE record spotless and had Petchdam rocked on multiple occasions, but the Petchyindee Academy-trained athlete recovered quickly in each instance.

Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy made the first defense of his ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship against Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex. The challenger started strong, but Petchmorakot adjusted to his pressure and out-worked the legend to retain his gold.

Kickboxing stars Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong and Superbon made their debuts against one another to settle their deadlocked 1-1 series. At ONE: No Surrender, Superbon did enough in the three rounds to take down a unanimous decision.

In mixed martial arts action, Stamp Fairtex dominated youngster Sunisa Srisen with a first-round TKO. The ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion met little resistance as she continues to round out her game.

Striking star Fabricio Andrade showcased his developing game as well with a second-round rear-naked choke submission over Mark Fairtex Abelardo.

Superlek Kiatmoo9 took the evening’s opening contest with a unanimous decision victory over Panpayak Jitmuangnon in ONE Super Series action.
