PFC 13: What To Watch For At PFC 13

PFC 13 goes down on Sunday, March 8th at Rebel Night Club in Toronto, Ontario. The card kicks off at 4:00 pm EST. A championship bout is positioned in the main event but there’s a lot to look forward to here. Prospect Fighting Championships will present indidivuals who’ve had UFC contract offers, KOTC/ Rizin veterans, and fittingly enough, all of the top prospective talent among the Ontario MMA scene.

PFC 13

Tony Laramie vs Claudio Ledesma (vacant PFC flyweight championship)

Laramie is one of the more hotly discussed young prospects on the entire Canadian MMA scene. He will look to defeat his much more experienced adversary in the top of the marquee bout. Ledesma will enter the cage for his 25th pro outing while this will be Laramie’s seventh MMA fight. Claudio Ledesma has carved his name out on the Bellator, Titan FC, and CFFC circuits while Laramie has made his name within TKO and PFC.

Laramie is looking to become a champion much like his older brother former TKO featherweight champ and current PFC featherweight champ TJ. Ledesma is looking to use his veteran savvy to capure a championship belt in his promotional debut.

Adam De Freitas vs Zackery Powell

This is an intriguing prospect bout which is apropos considering the name of the promotion. This fight, perhaps more than any on the card, is emblematic of that. De Freita is only 1-0 as a pro but the lightweight has had a notoriously difficult time locking down fights. Powell is happy to oblige the Mississauga native. This classic Ontario vs Quebec prizefight with De Freitas vs Powell filling the respective roles.

Both men have a one hundred percent finishing rate via submission. So watch out when this one hits the floor.

UFC/ King of the Cage/ Rizin

Michael Imperato vs Matthew Skibicki

Imperato’s last bout saw him secure a unanimous decision win over Mike McAloon at PFC 11. Snapping a three-fight losing skid that he had been on. Imperato is back at it in the PFC cage and will be taking on Matt Skibicki, a 4-1 bantamweight whose lone loss was via split decision. Imperato at one point was offered a UFC contract and has long been regarded as one of Canada’s best at 135 lbs.

This is by far the biggest test for Skibicki so far. Michael Imperato was also born in Toronto so will have the support of the partisan crowd against the 25 year old out of Maryland.

Melissa Karagianis vs Claudia Baril

Karagianis is a former KOTC titlist at 105 lbs and has experience on the Rizin circuit. She has been in there with some of the top atomweights in the world including Lindsey VanZandt and Kanna Asakura. Baril is making her pro MMA debut. She was scheduled to compete for TKO but things fell through with that. Now the former kickboxer is looking to finally make her inaugural foray into mixed-martial arts at PFC 13.
