PFL 2 2024 Staff Picks and Predictions

Two stacked fight cards are moments away for MMASucka staff picks.

PFL 2 2024 will occur today, April 12th from The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is the second of the Professional Fighter League’s Regular Season as fighters contest for points at a shot in the Playoffs. The year-end event will see two final fighters from six weight classes battle for a one million dollar cash prize in addition to the promotional Championship. See PFL MMA’s website here about the scoring system and more.

Tonight’s card featuring lightweight and light heavyweights will begin with prelims at 6:30pm ET (3:30pm PT) on ESPN+. The main card will take place on both ESPN+ and ESPN 2 at 9:00pm ET (6:00pm PT).

Results from all of PFL 2 2024 will be available here at MMASucka. Stay tuned tomorrow for our staff picks and results from the monumental UFC 300 event also in Las Vegas.

Light Heavyweights – 205 Pounds

In the night’s featured main event, Impa Kasanganay and Alex Polizzi will meet across three possible five-minute rounds. 2023 Tournament Champion Kasanganay makes a quick return after losing a narrow split decision for the PFL vs. Bellator Championship to Johnny Eblen. His opponent, former LFA Light Heavyweight Champion Polizzi, makes his promotional debut following the merger as he targets snapping a two-fight skid and his first win since March of 2022.

Australia’s Rob Wilkinson will make his return to the PFL cage in the co-main slot opposite England’s Tom Breese, who steps in for late notice for Phil Davis. After missing most of 2023 competition due to a suspension from a failed drug test, 2022 Champion Wilkinson aims for a return to form as he looks for an 18th professional win in his 21st fight. Opposite sees grappling specialist Breese who rides a three-bout submission streak including his PFL Europe qualifier win in December.

Five-time PFL Playoff contender and 2022 Welterweight victor Sadibou Sy makes the move to 205 pounds for the first time in his career as he squares off with former two-divisional LFA Champion and 2023 runner-up Josh Silveira.

Following a lengthy recovery from knee surgery, the Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3 Heavyweight winner and 2021 Tournament Champion Antonio Carlos Junior returns for the first time since mid-2022 against former EFC Title holder and four-time Bellator competitor Simon Biyong.

The final 205-pound matchup will fall between former ACA/ACB Champion Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov and the eight-fight victory stretch of PFL Europe standout Jakob Nedoh.

Lightweights – 155 Pounds

Two battles in the lightweight division will take place on the ESPN 2 main card. Firstly, 2023 finalist and three-season contender Clay Collard hopes to snap a two-fight losing streak against former Bellator Lightweight Champion and seasoned veteran Patricky Pitbull. Additionally, former Cage Warriors Featherweight Title holder Mads Burnell gets his shot in the PFL pool riding a two-fight win streak since the top of 2023. He will battle the recently-crowned Cage Titans FC Champion of Quebec’s Michael Dufort.

Tiger Muay Thais’ Bruno Miranda was met with his fourth professional defeat in the 2023 Lightweight Tournament Semifinals to ultimate victor Olivier Aubin-Mercier. His 21st fight will come against debutant and former Bellator Lightweight Champion Brent Primus who is ready to contest for his second consecutive victory after a May of 2023 decision over Mansour Barnaoui.

Another former EFC Champion of Sambo expert Gadzhi Rabadanov targets his seventh win in a row for his PFL debut versus 27-year-old striking specialist Simon Biyong.

15-fight Bellator veteran Adam Piccolotti and undefeated Elvin Espinoza will meet in the final Regular Season pairing.

Staff Picks

MMASucka staff picks are composed of four of the world’s leading mixed martial arts organizations: the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the Professional Fighters League (PFL) with Bellator MMA, ONE Championship (ONE FC), and Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS).

  • UFC picks will include main card fights ranging from four to six matchups per event.
  • PFL and Bellator MMA see picks from main cards for pay-per-views and from tournament fights in the Regular Season, Playoffs, and Finals.
  • ONE FC and DWCS picks will feature all MMA fights from the event with a minimum of three matchups.

The individual who picks the most victorious fighters by the end of 2024 will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBelts or a detailed chain from Championship Chains. Staff picks in 2023 were won by Ben Jamieson with a record of 300-148.
