Proven Drug Cheat, TJ Dillashaw Questions Tom Aspinall after UFC 321

TJ Dillashaw has given his opinion on Tom Aspinall‘s withdrawal from the UFC 321 main event in a statement that is shrouded in irony.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock since the weekend, you’ll be aware that the UFC 321 main event was deemed a no-contest after just 4:35 of the first round, after Ciryl Gane poked Tom Aspinall in the eye, rendering him unable to see.

A number of prominent names in the world of MMA have given their opinion on the matter, with differing opinions. From Belal Muhammad (who knows a lot about eye pokes) to Anthony Smith, many pros have weighed in. Ultimately, Aspinall is the only one who knows truly how bad the eye poke is and for a man who has fought, been injured heading into fights, hurt and given everything to the sport, we can assume he isn’t lying about this one.

Let’s not forget, Gane isn’t getting much of the heat, despite being the man who committed the foul…

Ironically, fellow (proven) cheater, TJ Dillashaw has questioned the legitimacy of Aspinall’s injury.

TJ Dillashaw Not Convinced by Aspinall’s Injury Claims

Talking on the Jaxxon Podcast, TJ Dillashaw stated that the Frenchman was “more calculated” than Aspinall, continuing to say, “I really believe that’s why Aspinall didn’t come back from that eye poke”.

He went on to say, “the way it looked – his eye was closed when he got poked in it, he was saying he couldn’t see but wasn’t even trying to open his eye“.

The former champion, Dillashaw also compared Aspinall to other fighters he’s seen suffer the same fate, “Obviously I have no idea, I’m not there. But you see the pictures afterwards and his eye looks fine. I’ve seen a whole finger go in someone’s eye and they keep fighting.”

Dillashaw Makes Ludicrous Claim

In one of the most ludicrous claims throughout the podcast made by TJ Dillashaw, the former bantamweight champion claimed that the heavyweight champion didn’t want to tough it out.

“I feel like he might have taken the easy way out.”

A damning statement from a man who took performance enhancing drugs to try and get the edge on his opponent…

Dillashaw was found guilty of having taken PEDs, specifically erythropoietin (a synthetic form of EPO), which cannot be ingested by accident. He chose to cheat and now he’s supporting a fellow cheater in Gane.

It’s well worth noting that Gane’s actions are nowhere close to those of Dillashaw.
