Referee Josh Rosenthal sentenced to to over 3 years in jail

MMAFighting.com is reporting that Josh Rosenthal, a noted MMA referee, has been sentenced to 37 months, after pleading guilty to a variety of charges including conspiracy to manufacture and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. The 37 month term is mandatory, with no chance of parole. In addition to the prison time, Rosenthal will have to undergo 3 years of supervision after his release, and pay a $100 special assessment fee.

Rosenthal was arrested in 2012, after federal agents raided a warehouse in Oakland, CA that contained over 1000 marijuana plants, with a value of over $6,000,000 dollars. While he has not officiated a bout since his arrest, Rosenthal was last seen providing commentary for WAR MMA’s debut card.
