Rob Broughton out, Phil De Fries in vs. Matt Mitrione at UFC 155

A heavyweight match up between Matt Mitrione and Phil De Fries has been set for UFC 155 in December.

Mitrione was originally slated to face Rob Broughton at UFC on FX 4, but due to personal reasons the bout was moved to UFC on FOX 5. It is unclear why Broughton has been removed from the bout now, but De Fries will step in in his place.

UFC officials announced the new match-up on Friday.

Mitrione (5-1) lost his first MMA fight back at UFC 137 at the hands of Cheick Kongo. Prior to the loss he won five in a row. He will look to get back into the win column this December.

De Fries (9-1) most recently defeated Oli Thompson at UFC on FOX 4 by submission. Back at UFC on FUEL TV 1 he took his first loss at the hands of Stipe Miocic.

UFC 155 goes down on December 29 at a venue to be announced in Las Vegas. The main event is expected to be a heavyweight title fight between Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez.
