Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ace Robert Drysdale will finally make his Octagon debut at UFC 167 against Cody Donovan.
UFC officials announced the match-up late Thursday evening.

Drysdale (6-0) is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has won his fair share of BJJ medals, but has yet to taste MMA gold. As mentioned above he began his MMA career back in 2010 when he fought in the then British Columbia based promotion AFC where he defeated Bastien Huveneers. He went on to fight two more times for AFC and then continued his fight game with Legacy FC. Most recently he defeated D.J. Linderman at Legacy FC 19 in April. All six of his victories come via first round submission.
He was expected to make his first UFC appearance at UFC 163 against Ednaldo Oliveira, however was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a reported staph infection
Donovan (8-3) is coming off his first loss in three years at UFC Fight Night 26 in August against Ovince St.Preux. The Grudge Training Center fighter made his promotional debut against Nick Penner at UFC on FX 6, where he knocked him out late in the first round and also picked up ‘Fight of the Night’ honors. Prior to entering the Octagon, Donovan was riding a three-fight winning streak with three different promotions (Full Force Fighting, Bellator and Instinct Fighting).
No word as to where on the fight card the Drysdale vs. Donovan bout will land.
UFC 167 will take place on November 16 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main event is a welterweight title clash between champion Georges St.Pierre and long-waiting challenger Johny Hendricks. Stay tuned to MMASucka.com for more on this and other upcoming fights.
