Roman Kryklia Talks Quick Stoppage Win
In getting the finish, Roman Kryklia spoke about his impressive finish in ONE Championship’s return to U.S. primetime. He came out quickly but soon put the onus on his opponent to exchange. That tiny adjustment made all the difference.
“No, it was nothing unpredictable. But in the first round, I started actively, but maybe after one minute, I just made some pause, and I was waiting for a more aggressive attitude from my opponent. And if my opponents come to me aggressively, it’s much easier for me to get the knockout, to find some weak places to target,” Roman Kryklia said after the event.
Once he made contact with Knowles, Roman Kryklia knew the finish would soon come. With a damaged foe already getting knocked down, it was only a matter of time for the Ukrainian to get his hand raised. The titan of the division detailed what was going through his head before the final blow.
Roman Kryklia on Mindset After First Knockdown
“When I got him the first time, I understood that it was almost over, because [we were in] small gloves, and I felt that his defense was not perfect, and for me, it was a gift. And I thought that it would be the end soon,” the towering heavyweight remarked.
With an easy night at the office inside Lumpinee Stadium, Roman Kryklia exited in the same condition he entered. The 33-year-old feels refreshed and healthy, ready to compete again soon. All he is waiting for is a call and an opponent.
“I’m ready to be back in the ring in one week. I’m fresh. I have no injury, and I’m ready. I know I’m in good shape, so I’m waiting for the invitation for light heavyweight or heavyweight, in kickboxing and Muay Thai,” Roman Kryklia said.
