Ronda Rousey vs Cat Zingano set for UFC 182 on January 3

A second championship fight has been added to the first pay-per-view event of 2015, UFC 182, one you cannot miss.  Although talked about prior to today, UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey vs. #1 contender Cat Zingano is a done deal.

Ronda Rousey vs Cat Zingano set for UFC 182 on January 3

Ariel Helwani broke the news on the official UFC news show, UFC Tonight, which airs on FOX Sports 1 on Wednesdays at 8pm ET.

Rousey (10-0) will be defending her UFC belt for the fifth time, finishing her last four opponents all by finish.  She last beat Alexis Davis very quickly in the first round by TKO, at UFC 175.  Prior to that, he picked up a submission win over Miesha Tate late last year and a TKO victory over Sara McMann to kick off 2014.

Zingano (9-0), the long time #1 contender at 135lbs, will be looking to dethrone the dominant champion right at the beginning of next year.  After coming off a long layoff due to injury and personal issues, she made a statement at UFC 178 last month by finishing Amanda Nunes.

UFC 182 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Jan. 3.  It is headlined by light heavyweight champion Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier.
