After mixed fortunes at 185-lbs, it turns out that a drop to 170-lbs may have been a good decision after all.
Rousimar Palhares scores signature leg-lock victory over Mike Pierce in just 30s
Rousimar Palhares took on Mike Pierce in the main card of UFC Fight Night 29, and needed just half a minute to signal his intentions to the rest of the 170-lbs division.
Pierce drove for a takedown but it turned against him, as “Toquinho” immediately looked for his signature submission. Although the American tried hard to fight out of it, Palhares refused to back away from the leg-lock maneuver, and eventually earned the tap right around the 30 second mark.
