Shane Roller retires following UFC on FX 5 loss

On Friday night, Shane Roller fell victim to a quick submission at the hands of Jacob Volkmann at UFC on FX 5.

The Team Takedown fighter took to his Twitter account on Monday morning to announce that he is moving on from the sport of MMA.

“Looks like I’m hanging up the gloves for good. It was fun, but time to move on. Sux that it ended like that. Now startn (sic) the next chapter!!”

Roller had lost 4 of his last 5 fights with his lone win coming against Canadian John Alessio at UFC 148 in July.

We have seen plenty of fighters retire and then return to the octagon for more action. No word as to whether Roller will do the same.
