As first reported by MMAFighting.com and confirmed by ONE Championship officials, Stamp Fairtex and Ham Seo Hee will meet for the ONE Interim Atomweight World Championship. The two atomweight stars will scrap for gold on September 1. The title tilt will headline ONE Fight Night 14 on Prime Video.
The decision to crown an interim champion comes with questions surrounding ONE Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee’s future. But the two top contenders will be more than deserving of the honor. Their paths to the gold place them under the bright lights with everything to gain.
Ham Seo Hee arrived on the global stage in 2021 for the ONE Atomweight World Grand Prix. After a narrow split-decision win over Denice Zamboanga, Ham could not continue in the tournament. However, it would line up a definitive rematch with the Filipina six months later. A match Ham would win convincingly.
In March 2023, Ham returned at ONE Fight Night 8 against Itsuki Hirata. Once again, the South Korean shined for 15 minutes to assert herself as the next title contender. After a long career, she stands one match away from a defining achievement.
Stamp won the ONE Atomweight World Grand Prix but came short in her title bid against Lee. Although nearly getting a first-round finish, the Thai superstar has used that bout as a learning experience to return even better. Since that match, she has gone 3-0 in ONE competition.
Stamp danced her way back into the win column against Jihin Radzuan with a unanimous decision victory. Three months later, the Thai star moved up to strawweight for a short-notice kickboxing battle against Anna Jaroonsak. But her most recent victory, against Alyse Anderson at ONE Fight Night 10, was a star-making performance for Stamp in the United States.
