Unfortunately, this is another fight where statistics don’t tell the entire tale. The Fight Metric stats for Chan only show his Zuffa fights, and during that time, he hasn’t exactly fought the strongest crop of wrestlers. Not that the threat of a takedown from Jose Aldo is a huge one, it’s still something that needs to be considered. As well, while “The Korean Zombie” has a great takedown accuracy rate, he’s going to need to do close the distance and use trips or clinch throws against “Scarface,” as the Brazilian – and the majority of his teammates at Nova Uniao – have shown a remarkable defense against freestyle and folkstyle wrestling leg-based takedowns. The only hard part about that is closing the distance while retaining consciousness. So, with all that said, I’m still expecting the Zombie, with his legendary toughness, to carry through to the end of five rounds, but I foresee Aldo being the one getting his hand raised.
