You would think that having two of Mixed Martial Art's most respected fighters retire in one night is kind of a big deal. Both Pride FC Grand Prix Champion Mirko "Crocop" Filipović and former lightweight and welterweight champion BJ Penn decided to announce their retirement this past weekend after both had been defeated at UFC 137. On this night however, the magnitude of their decisions had been overshadowed by the excitement caused by newly crowned number one welter weight contender, Nick Diaz. This Japanese fighter has been on the prospect’s radar for a while now, hence why he is on the main card for his debut this Saturday at UFC 137. The reason: Titles: He is the former TKO Major League MMA in which he won the title by defeating Mark Hominick. He won the Shooto Lightweight Champion against Takeshi Inoue.
