A huge congratulations to UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan, who has received his black belt in 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu this past Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Rogan was awarded this honor by the school's founder and long time friend, Eddie Bravo.
Earlier this year Rampage Jackson had a beef with Joe Rogan's color commentating. Rampage told Fighter's Only Magazine the following:
If you win then Joe...
It's not often that we hear from referees in the sport, and when we do it's almost never during an event, so at UFC 142 when Joe Rogan had pulled referee Mario Yamasaki aside for a post fight interview after the controversial call Yamasaki made to decide the Carlos Prater disqualification win over Erick Silva, many were intrigued to hear his view on the decision.
Dana was uncommitted on whether or not Miguel Torres would ever fight in the UFC again after the Twitter scandal, saying only "We'll see". He did appreciate Torres' statement after the fact, but left no confusion on how he feels about his decision:
"Nobody has any business making jokes about rape....It was from a TV show? Who gives a shit? This is not a TV show."
Joe Rogan was unable to make the trip to Brazil for UFC 134 due to film obligations for the return of the NBC show Fear Factor.
To take Joe's place is none other than UFC Featherweight contender Kenny Florian. Florian will take a step back from his training camp for his Featherweight Title fight against Jose Aldo at UFC 136 to make the trip to Brazil.
