Thomas de Almeida debuts against Tim Gorman in Brazil

23 year old Brazilian prospect Thomas de Almeida is set to make his highly anticipated debut in Uberlandia at UFC Fight Night 56 against Tim Gorman.

UFC officials confirmed the fight on Thursday.

de Almeida (17-0) is obviously undefeated in his career with an impressive 17 wins. But what’s most impressive is the fact that all of those 17 wins were inside the distance. The Brazilian young gun won the Legacy FC bantamweight title in his last outing, and received a call from the UFC about two months ago.

Gorman (8-3) was a contestant on season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter. An injury forced him out of the competition early on. He was unsuccessful in his UFC debut this past April, but he got thrown right to the wolves in the form of Canadian Mitch Gagnon.

The bouts placement on the card is unknown at this time, but expect it to be on the undercard.

UFC Fight Night 56 is set to take placeo n November 8 in Umberlandia, Minas Gerais, Brazil at Tancredo Neves Gymnasium. It will be headlined by an intriguing light heavyweight contest between Shogun Rua and Jimi Manuwa.
