Tom Aspinall Joins Halloween Fun With Hilarious Jab at Ciryl Gane

It seems there’s still no end in sight to the Tom Aspinall eye-poke saga. A week after the controversial UFC 321 main event, the MMA world continues to buzz about Ciryl Gane’s accidental poke that led to their heavyweight title fight ending in chaos. While figures like Jon Jones, Dana White, and Aljamain Sterling have taken digs at Aspinall, a few fighters have come to his defense, calling out Gane for his actions in Abu Dhabi. Now, as Halloween night rolled around, the Englishman decided to respond in his own way, taking a hilarious jab at Gane over the infamous incident.

Tom Aspinall Trolls Ciryl Gane With Freddy Krueger-Inspired Halloween Post

On Friday, Aspinall joined in on the Halloween fun by poking fun at his own misfortune. The heavyweight champion posted a series of hilarious photos on social media mocking the infamous UFC 321 eye-poke incident. One image showed him wearing an eye patch with the caption, “At least I’m ready for Halloween.”

While another compared Ciryl Gane to horror icon Freddy Krueger, the villain from 1984’s A Nightmare on Elm Street, known for his glove with blades on each finger. Aspinall’s caption added to the humor: “Man’s been ready.”

For those unaware, Aspinall underwent medical tests in Abu Dhabi shortly after the fight and initially received a positive prognosis. However, his checkups have continued since returning home to the United Kingdom, and on Halloween, he was once again seen at the hospital. His Instagram Stories featured another update with the caption: “Another day, another hospital.”

While waiting to be seen, Aspinall kept his spirits high, cracking Halloween jokes about his recent misfortune inside the Octagon. Ironically, his rival Jon Jones also got in on the act, arriving at the DBX 4 weigh-ins on a horse wearing a black eye patch, mirroring the avatar he changed to on social media right after UFC 321.

Adding to the worries for the reigning heavyweight kingpin, Andy Aspinall recently revealed that the Englishman is still not able to see out of his right eye. His left eye is operating at 50% but things are still gray and blurry.

UFC Stars Georges St-Pierre, Sean Strickland, and Max Holloway Show Off Hilarious Halloween Costumes

While Tom Aspinall marked Halloween in his own trademark style, several other UFC stars also got into the spooky spirit. With past years setting a high bar, 2025 was no exception as the fighters once again delivered with some wildly creative and hilarious costumes.

Legends and fan favorites like Max Holloway, Sean Strickland, Georges St-Pierre, and Luke Rockhold all showed off their sense of humor, donning a mix of funny, clever, and pop-culture-inspired outfits to celebrate the occasion.
