Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, Santa Monica California – Instead of the usual Q and A prior to the weigh ins for UFC on FOX, the UFC 141 press conference was held with Dana White and the fighters of the main event, Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem. Both media and fans had the opportunity to ask questions to the fighters ranging from Brock’s bout with diverticulitis to Alistair’s move to the USA and training with Xtreme Couture.
UFC 141 is scheduled for Friday December 30th, 2011 and will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This will be Lesnar’s first fight since October 23, 2010 after losing the heavyweight title to Cain Velasquez. He had been forced to take a long layoff due to surgery caused by diverticulitis.
Overeem will be making his UFC debut. This will be his first fight since pulling out of Strikeforce’s heavyweight grand prix due to a rib injury.
