UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit Medical Suspensions

Earlier today via Press Release the Nevada State Athletic Commission released the list of fighters suspended due to medical reasons from UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit. UFC 143 took place this past Saturday (Feb.4) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Several fighters have been suspended without contact for up to 6 months. Those fighters include Fabricio Werdum, Clifford Starks, Ed Herman, Edwin Figueroa, Matt Riddle, Henry Martinez and Michael Kuiper. Of course they could be cleared earlier with doctors permission.

Below is the full list of UFC 143 suspensions

  • Carlos Condit is suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 due to a right-cheek laceration
  • Fabricio Werdum is suspended until Aug. 3 due to a right-quadriceps contusion, though a doctor can clear him early; regardless, suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 for precautionary reasons
  • Roy Nelson is suspended until April 5 due to a forehead laceration
  • Mike Pierce is suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 due to a right-eye laceration
  • Scott Jorgensen is suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 for precautionary reasons
  • Clifford Starks is suspended until Aug. 3 due to a left-hand/finger injury, though a doctor can clear him early following an X-ray
  • Ed Herman is suspended until Aug. 3 due to possible injuries to both hands, though a doctor can clear him early; regardless, suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 for precautionary reasons
  • Max Holloway is suspended until Feb. 26 with no contact until Feb. 19 due to a right-eye laceration
  • Alex Cacaeres is suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 for precautionary reasons
  • Edwin Figueroa is suspended until Aug. 3 due to a groin injury, though a doctor can clear him early; regardless, suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 for precautionary reasons
  • Chris Cope is suspended until April 5 with no contact until March 21 for precautionary reasons
  • Matt Riddle is suspended until Aug. 3 due to a broken right-index finger, though a doctor can clear him early; regardless, suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 due to a left-eye laceration
  • Henry Martinez is suspended until Aug. 3 due to a possible right-foot injury, though a doctor can clear him early; regardless, suspended until March 21 with no contact until March 6 due to a left-nasal laceration
  • Michael Kuiper is suspended until Aug. 3 due to a possible left-foot injury, though a doctor can clear him early; regardless, suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 25 for precautionary reasons
  • Dan Stittgen is suspended until March 21 with no contact until March 6 for precautionary reasons
