UFC 177 Results: Carlos Diego Ferreira TKO’s Ramsey Nijem

Despite Ramsey Nijem’s veteran status in the UFC, Brazil’s Carlos Diego Ferreira emerged victorious on Saturday night at UFC 177, stopping his opponent with strikes in the opening stages of the second frame.

UFC 177 took place at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento. Nijem-Ferreira comprised of a five bout main card that aired on pay-per-view.

The 155-pounders started off at a decent pace, with tentative strikes from both ends. But towards the end of the round, Ferreira rocked Nijem with a solid blow before rallying for a submission finish. Nijem, though, survived and ensured the bout went saw a second round.

But it didn’t take long for Ferreira to finish the fight. After making it through an early scare in the form of a Guillotine choke at the start of the frame, Nijem succumbed to a straight right from Ferreira, and later ate some follow-up shots before referee Herb Dean stepped in to make an intervention.

Final Result: Carlos Diego Ferreira def. Ramsey Nijem via TKO (Punches) at 1:53 of Round 2
