UFC 311 is here! Later on tonight, Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA, the home court of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, plays host to the first pay-per-view event from MMA’s leading promotion. Tonight’s card begins at 6 pm ET/ 3 pm PT on ESPN+ with the early prelims.
Due to ESPN’s linear networks being occupied with other programming, such as the AFC Divisional Playoff between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs from Arrowhead Stadium and college basketball in primetime on ESPN proper, the prelims will be seen via traditional TV on FX. Late prelims follow at 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT on FX, ESPNNEWS and ESPN+.
The night is capped off by a five-fight main card at 10 pm ET/ 7 pm PT on ESPN+ pay-per-view. All told, UFC 311 will feature 13 fights on the slate this evening.
UFC 311 Main Event
At the top of the bill tonight is a reshuffled fight for the UFC Lightweight Championship in the UFC 311 main event. Current titleholder Islam Makhachev (26-1 MMA, 15-1 UFC) battles No. 10 contender Renato Moicano (20-5-1 MMA, 12-5 UFC) in a late replacement to preserve the bout.
Moicano was announced as Makhachev’s new adversary for the UFC 311 main event yesterday morning during the official weigh-ins after No. 1 contender Arman Tsarukyan (22-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) was forced to withdraw amid back issues. This new-look main event is a maximum of five rounds at five minutes per round to close out the show.
