At one of the most significant cards in the company’s history, UFC 322 set the table for a pair of monumental superfights featuring the welterweight and women’s flyweight divisions. Rising up from lightweight, Islam Makhachev successfully dethroned newly-minted Jack Della Maddalena to become one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time in the UFC 322 main event. In the UFC 322 co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko also further solidified her place as the best 125-lb female athlete ever by toppling the former strawweight ruler Zhang Weili.
Now, let’s take a look at some interesting tidbits from the main card of UFC 322.
UFC 322: Benoît Saint Denis def. Beneil Dariush
Benoît Saint Denis
Saint-Denis’ UFC 322 win over Beneil Dariush is not only his third victory in a row, but also his third in 2025. It’s his fifth triumph by knockout as a professional. He has now earned his second consecutive Performance of the Night bonus after previously dismantling Maurício Ruffy this past September at UFC Fight Night 258.

Beneil Dariush
Dariush’s UFC 322 to Saint-Denis took him out of the win column after a superb unanimous decision opposite Renato Moicano at UFC 317 back in June. In addition, his knockout defeat to the Frenchman is the fastest loss of his professional career at 16 seconds, beating the previous swiftest time after he was stopped by Alexander Hernandez in 42 seconds at UFC 222 in 2018
He is now 2-3 in his last five bouts, with all those setbacks coming by way of finishes due to strikes.
UFC 322: Carlos Prates def. Leon Edwards
Carlos Prates
Prates’ win over Edwards served as his 12th victory by knockout since 2019. It also was his third main card pay-per-view placement after also appearing both at UFC 305 and UFC 319. He is now 6-1 in his promotional tenure.
Leon Edwards
Edward’s loss to Prates marked his third straight defeat. He has now lost his last two contests by stoppage, with his knockout stoppage to Prates being the first of his professional career.
He now sits at the number nine spot on the UFC’s welterweight rankings after previously being the champion just last year at UFC 304
UFC 322: Michael Morales def. Sean Brady
Michael Morales
Morales’ UFC 322 win over Brady marked his 19th victory in a row since starting his professional career 2017. He has now won his last three tilts by first-round finish
His appearance at UFC 322 was also his first pay-per-view slot since UFC 277 in 2022. 14 of his past 19 wins have now come inside the distance.
Sean Brady
His loss to Morales was just the second of his journey as a professional, as well as his first since taking a knockout setback to future welterweight champion Belal Muhammad at UFC 280.
His match with Morales was also only the second time he was unable to takedown his adversary in a UFC fight. He is now 4-2 in his last six bouts.
UFC 322: Valentina Shevchenko def. Zhang Weili
Shevchenko’s win over Weili is her third consecutive victory. It’s also the second title defense of her second reign as women’s flyweight champion, the ninth overall when including her first.
She now is tied for the most women’s title fight wins in UFC history, sharing this feat with Amanda Nunes.
Zhang Weili
Weili’s loss to Shevchenko is her first since falling to Rose Namajunas at UFC 268 in 2021. Three of her four losses as a professional have now come due to the judges scorecards.
Her UFC record stands at 10-3, with all of her setbacks happening in championship contests.
UFC 322: Islam Makhachev def. Jack Della Maddalena
Islam Makhachev
His win over Della Maddalena is his 16th successive victory, tying Anderson Silva for the longest winning streak in UFC history. He is now the 11th fighter to capture a promotional title in two different weight divisions
Makhachev is also only the second man to score both the lightweight and welterweight straps, behind B.J. Penn. 10 of his 28 triumphs as a professional have come via decision.
Jack Della Maddalena
His loss to Makhachev was his first since 2016 after previously embarking on a 18-fight win streak. It was also his first in the UFC after debuting in the organization in 2022, compiling eight consecutive victories.
His 189-day reign as welterweight king was the fourth shortest in the division’s history
