The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services today issued its list of medical suspensions for UFC on Versus 5: “Hardy vs. Lytle,” which took place on Sunday, August 14, 2011, from the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
It’s no surprise that a good number of fighters were suspended due to medical reasons with the brutality of some of those fights. Six fighters have been suspended indefinitely.
Here is the complete list of UFC on Versus 5 injuries and their medical instructions
Dan Hardy: Suspended for 30 days (precautionary reasons)
Jim Miller: Suspended indefinitely (head injury); must pass neurological exam and CT scan prior to return
Ben Henderson: Suspended for 30 days (left elbow injury); must pass X-ray prior to return
Charles Oliveira: Suspended for 30 days (precautionary reasons)
Amir Sadollah: Suspended indefinitely (head injury); must pass neurological exam and CT scan prior to return
Duane Ludwig: Suspended indefinitely (knee and head injuries); must pass neurological exam, X-Ray and CT scan prior to return
C.B. Dollaway: Suspended indefinitely (head injury); must pass neurological exam and CT scan prior to return
Kyle Noke: Suspended indefinitely (knee injury); must pass MRI prior to return
Jim Hettes: Suspended for 30 days (head laceration)
Alex Caceres: Suspended for 30 (precautionary reasons)
Cole Miller: Suspended for 30 days (right hand injury)
T.J. O’Brien: Suspended indefinitely (rib and leg injuries); must pass physical prior to return
Jason Reinhardt: Suspended for 30 days (precautionary reasons)
Fighters often return to action much sooner. Once doctors give them the “OK”. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases.
