UFC Fight Night 148 Results

The UFC travels to Nashville, Tennessee this weekend for UFC Fight Night 148. The main event will feature a striking battle between two experienced strikers, Stephen Thompson and Anthony Pettis. For Pettis, he will be making his UFC welterweight debut against a very tough opponent in Thompson, the former 2x title challenger. Both men will be entering this fight fresh off a loss as they look to get the ball rolling again. Thompson hasn’t fought since last May when he faced Darren Till and lost via a controversial unanimous decision. Pettis’s last fight came against former interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson. After breaking his hand in the second round, Pettis’s corner stopped the fight.

In the co-main event, Curtis Blaydes makes his return fresh off a first round knockout loss at the hands of Francis Ngannou. He will be facing the tenth ranked heavyweight, Justin Willis. Blaydes will be looking to rebound from the loss to Ngannou and put himself back into the title picture. For Willis, this will be a big opportunity as a win could put him one fight away from a potential title shot.

Kicking off the main card will be a women’s flyweight fight between undefeated Maycee Barber and JJ Aldrich. After that, we’ll see a featherweight fight with Luis Pena making his featherweight debut against Steven Peterson. However, Pena came in two and a half pounds heavy during weigh-ins on Friday. In the third fight of the main card, two top five flyweights face off as Jussier Formiga faces Deiveson Figueiredo. Finally, before the co-main event will be a lightweight bout between John Makdessi and Jesus Pinedo.
