UFC Fight Night 43 Results: Nate Marquardt submits James Te Huna via Armbar

In a battle of strength vs. speed, it was strength that reigned victorious this time out.

Nate Marquardt locked horns with James Te Huna at 185-lbs in the main event of UFC Fight Night 43 on Friday night, and while boos and jeers rained down on the American for extended periods of time, Marquardt never faltered.

Marquardt was first in his strikes, landing with punches and kicks early. Te Huna immediately resorted to pushing the pace but as he did so, he ate a huge knee that sent him tumbling onto the canvas.

Te Huna, though, valiantly got back up and shot for a double-leg takedown. It was Marquardt, however, who ended up in top position and tried getting some ground-and-pound going in his favor.

Te Huna was back to his feet soon enough, managing to land some heavy leather on his opponent towards the fence. With two minutes left, Marquardt neatly tripped Te Huna and got into full mount.

The home favorite tried to escape by the back door but as he did, Marquardt latched onto his left arm and extended it for a perfect Armbar. Te Huna tapped, and that was all she wrote.

Final Result: Nate Marquardt def. James Te Huna via Submission (Armbar) at 4:34 of Round 1
