‘TUF: China’ tourney winner, Zhang Lipeng, didn’t have it easy against Australia’s Brendan O’Reilly but the Chinese fighter conjured enough to merit a lopsided decision call from the judges.

The bout was part of a four-fight main card on UFC Fight Night 48, which went down at The Venetian’s CotaiArena in Macau, China.

The 155-pounders had a closely fought first frame, with O’Reilly spending some time on his back following a successful takedown attempt. Although Lipeng rallied some effective ground-and-pound from top position, O’Reilly managed to turn the odds and land some leather of his own to close the stanza.

Lipeng upped the ante in the second round, landing some neat strikes before taking the fight to the canvas and transitioning to his opponent’s back for a Rear-Naked Choke submission. O’Reilly, however, survived the attempt and ensured the bout went to a third round.

While the final five minutes was reminiscent of the second frame, O’Reilly, though, was forced to fight with a bloody wound on his mouth. His counterpart once again went for a Rear-Naked Choke but was unable to secure a fight-ending finish.

He eventually garnered a 29-28, 30-27 and 30-27 tally from the judges.

Final result: Zhang Lipeng def. Brendan O’Reilly via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)
