UFC on Fuel TV 1: Dillashaw dominates Watson on points

TJ Dillashaw is one of the hottest prospects in the UFC, although he only has five professional bouts under his belt he has years of wrestling experience behind him and training alongside his friend, mentor and training partner Urijah Faber.

Dillashaw first got mainstream recognition as a member of The Ultimate Fighter where he would dispatch of three opponents en route to making the finals of the series, losing to John Dodson.

Walel Watson has risen to the UFC fighting around the regional circuit against some tough customers in Cody Gibson and Ismael Leon before getting his chance at the big-time completely smashing fellow prospect Joseph Sandoval in his octagon debut before losing a closely contested split-decision to Yves Jabuoin.

These talented featherweights squared off in a one-sided affair with the Team Alpha Male member putting a beating on the fellow prospect – Dillashaw showed decent striking to open up proceedings but he wasn’t there to put on a kick boxing clinic he quickly took him off his feet.

Dillashaw dominated the opening ten minutes slamming Jabuoin to the mat with thunderous takedowns and raining down punch after punch landing 172 strikes over all to the 12 landed by Watson.

All his hard work nearly got away from him in the final frame when he was showing clear signs of fatigue and Watson nearly put him away with his submission attempts but he was able to survive and finished strong in top-position.

Dillashaw got his hand raised winning every round, scoring two 30-25 cards.
