UFC Mexico is almost here. On Saturday night, Arena CDMX in Mexico City will serve as the host venue for the final UFC Fight Night of the month of March.
Inside the United States, live coverage of this card will be seen on ESPN+ from start to finish beginning with the prelims at 4 pm ET/ 1 pm PT. Main card action follows at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT on the subscription-based streaming platform.
If you wish to screen UFC Mexico on linear television tomorrow evening, you’re in luck. ESPN2 will air the event in its entirety at 4 pm ET/ 1 pm PT this Saturday. Friday morning, the official weigh-ins for this weekend’s card took place.
UFC Mexico Main Event Cleared for Takeoff After Weigh-In
The main event of the evening tomorrow night sees No. 2 contender Brandon Moreno (22-8-2 MMA, 10-5-2 UFC) squaring off against No. 8 contender Steve Erceg (12-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) at flyweight. Both Moreno and Erceg weighed-in on-target for the headliner at 125 lbs.
This main event will be an advertised maximum of five rounds at five minutes apiece to close out the night’s activities.
Co-Main Event Also Locked In for Saturday Night After Official Weigh-Ins Friday
Your co-main event of the evening at UFC Mexico is a lightweight affair between Manuel Torres (15-3 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Drew Dober (27-14, 1 NC MMA, 13-10, 1 NC UFC). That fight will go ahead as scheduled after Torres clocked in at 156 lbs, with Dober coming in at 155 lbs.
Ronaldo Rodriguez Misses Weight Ahead of UFC Mexico
The official weigh-ins for Saturday’s card were not without incident, however. Tomorrow’s main card opener at just past 7 pm ET pits Ronaldo Rodriguez (17-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) against Kevin Borjas (9-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) in what was planned to be a flyweight fight.
The former exceeded the flyweight nontitle maximum at 127 lbs at the Friday morning weigh-in. As a result, Rodriguez will cede 20 percent of his pay for tomorrow’s bout, with the contest now taking place at a 127-lb catchweight. Borjas successfully tipped the scales at 125 lbs.
Austin Hubbard Initially Misses Weight, Comes In On-Target at Second Time of Asking
Austin Hubbard (16-8 MMA, 4-6 UFC) will open the card as a whole tomorrow when he meets up with MarQuel Mederos (9-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) in a lightweight affair. Medeiros came in at 156 without any problems, but Hubbard encountered a slight hiccup at the scales on his first effort this morning.
During Hubbard’s initial attempt at the scale, he exceeded the lightweight nontitle maximum at 157 lbs. Hubbard, however, pleaded with the athletic commission, mentioning that he clocked in at 155 lbs upon weighing in offstage with a different scale.
UFC Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, Marc Ratner, intervened, asking for the offstage scale to be brought in. Ultimately, everything came out in the wash after Hubbard’s second try resulted in a weight of 156 lbs.
