UFC welterweight Matt Brown has a new podcast entitled, “Legit Man Sh*t” and he kicked it off with a bang.
It didn’t come without a boatload of controversy though. Brown spoke very candidly on women in mixed martial arts and the fact that for a $60 PPV he should get to see them fight topless.
UFC releases statement regarding Matt Brown’s podcast controversy
“I always said, ‘I don’t know why they put women in the UFC. I just think this, if I’m to pay $60 for a [UFC] Pay-Per-View to watch women fight, they should at least be topless.”
His comments set Twitter in an uproar and forced the UFC to issue a statement on their own behalf.
“Matt Brown has apologized for the comments made on his podcast, and we have addressed the matter with him. His comments don’t reflect the views of the UFC. There’s no place for discrimination within our organization at any level. The UFC is built on principles of respect, and any statements to the contrary are not acceptable.”
Brown was expected to take on Carlos Condit at UFC on FOX 9, however “The Immortal” was forced to withdraw from the bout due to two herniated discs in his back.
