Zane Simons of Bloody Elbow is reporting that the Ultimate Fighting Championships has made two new additions to it’s heavyweight roster in Omielanzcuk and Krylov.
Poland’s Daniel Omielanczuk (15-3-1 1 N/C) is coming to the UFC on the heels of a unanimous decision victory over David Tkeshelashvili. The bout took place in the regional Eastern Combat Sambo Federation at their MMA Grand Prix of Eastern Europe 2 event on December 15, 2012. A veteran of Eastern Europe’s burgeoning MMA scene, the 6’0″, 244 lbs. Team Nastula member has shown a propensity for the submission game as he tore through the regional scene, including a pair of victories with the seldom-seen north-south chokes to his name.
Donetsk, Ukraine-based Nikita “The Al Capone” Krylov (14-0) is also joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship on a win. The 20 year-old prospect finished Germany’s Gabriel “Panda” Tampu with strikes in the first round of their bout at April 9th’s M-1 Challenge 38 event. A proven finisher with five (T)KOs and nine submissions to his name, the uniquely-nicknamed Ukranian even has three submission victories which finished in the first minute, a rarity in mixed martial arts.
Neither Omielanzcuk nor Krylov has had a bout announced yet, but we look forward to their debuts in the UFC’s depleted heavyweight division.
