After more than two years out of the octagon stemming from a failed drug test, TJ Dillashaw returns this Saturday as MMASucka provides UFC Vegas 32 results. Welcoming Dillashaw back will be the 2nd ranked bantamweight Cory Sandhagen.
UFC Vegas 32 Results – Main Event
Since Sandhagen entered the UFC in 2018, he has only suffered one loss in eight fights. That one loss came to the current bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling. That loss came in 2020 and since then, Sandhagen has won his last two straight. Both of those wins came by KO/TKO as he finished Marlon Moraes by TKO and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar by knockout. A win over Dillashaw for Sandhagen would surely put him in the position for a title shot after the Sterling/Petr Yan rematch.
In Dillashaw’s last five fights, he holds a record of 4-1, but he is coming off a loss. After two straight unanimous decision wins over Raphael Assuncao and John Lineker, Dillashaw reclaimed the bantamweight title with a knockout win over Cody Garbrandt. In his next outing, he defended his title with another knockout win over Garbrandt. Following his first title defense, Dillashaw dropped down to flyweight where he challenged Henry Cejudo for the title. He lost to Cejudo in just over thirty seconds and following the loss he failed a drug test, resulting in his two year suspension and him relinquishing his bantamweight title. He hopes to get right back into the title mix with a win over Sandhagen.
UFC Vegas 32 Results – Co-Main Event
Saturday’s co-main event includes another bantamweight match up as Kyler Phillips takes on Raulian Paiva. Phillips made his UFC debut in 2020 and has not lost a fight since, going 3-0 in the octagon. In his debut, he picked up a unanimous decision win over Gabriel Silva. Following that win, he picked up his first finish in the UFC with a TKO win over Cameron Else. In Phillips’ most recent outing, he faced off against Song Yadong and picked up the unanimous decision win after a close fight. He looks to extend his win streak to five with a win over Paiva.
Paiva made his UFC debut a year earlier than Phillips in 2019 and since then has gone 2-2 in the octagon. Paiva earned his contract with a successful outing on Dana White’s Contender Series, but once he made it to the UFC, he lost his first two straight outings. One of those was a split decision loss to Kai Kara-France while the other was a TKO loss to Rogerio Bontorin. Following those losses, he picked up a knockout win over Mark De La Rosa followed by a UD win over Zhalgas Zhumagulov. With a win over Phillips, Paiva can extend his win streak to three after a rough start in the UFC.
UFC Vegas 32 Results – Main Card
Kicking off the main card will be yet another bantamweight fight as Adrian Yanez and Randy Costa face off. Yanez has had two fights in the UFC and has won them both as he comes off a a knockout win over Gustavo Lopez. As for Costa, he has won his last two straight coming off of a knockout win over Journey Newson.
Following that match up will be a women’s flyweight bout between top fifteen flyweights Miranda Maverick and Maycee Barber. Since entering the UFC last October, Maverick has won her first two UFC fights, most recently defeating Gillian Robertson via UD. Barber, on the other hand, entered the UFC with an undefeated record of 5-0. She won her first three UFC outings by TKO but since then has dropped her last two straight, both by UD.
Finally, before the co-main event will be a featherweight fight between Darren Elkins and Darrick Minner. After losing four straight from 2018-2020, Elkins picked up his first win in a couple of years in 2020 with a submission win over Luiz Eduardo Garagorri. Minner will be entering the fight with a two fight win streak behind him after picking up a submission win over TJ Laramie and a UD win over Charles Rosa.
