UFC Vegas 44 Card Undergoes Some Changes

The UFC and MMA promotions in general, have had a very healthy 2021 but this upcoming UFC Vegas 44 card is starting to lose some solid fights while also gaining some.

UFC Vegas 44 Card Undergoes Some Changes

To kickoff this past week of chaos surrounding the card, Brendan Allen hopes to finally have what is one last opponent switch on him as he looks to improve his 17-4 record, 6-1 inside the UFC octagon.

His newest opponent though will be making the turnaround in a little less than a month’s time as Chris Curtis goes from making his UFC debut at UFC 268 earlier this month to face Allen. Curtis is coming off a very impressive knockout in his debut against Phillip Hawes and a matchup now against an always game Allen could prove to be a performance bonus or fight of the night waiting to happen.

Allen will be the toughest test of Curtis’ young career though as the former LFA champion is no slouch by any means. As mentioned he is 6-1 in the UFC after winning his contract on the Contender Series and of those six wins he has wins over Kevin Holland, Tom Breese, and Kyle Daukaus with three of those six being stoppages

A very fun matchup by Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard.

“The Immortal” Tests Positive for COVID-19

UFC Welterweight and innovator of the hell-bow, Matt Brown announced this week he has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be unable to fight on the UFC Vegas 44 card. His opponent Bryan Barberena does not have a new opponent announced yet but he is still listed on the card as of today.

Brown, who retired and since came back, is 2-2 since coming out of that retirement and while he won’t be competing for a world title anytime soon he still remains one of the most entertaining fighters on the roster.
