UK’s pride and joy Jimi Manuwa signs with the UFC

Some might say, “It’s about time!” Others will say, “Who is that?”

UK’s own, Jimi Manuwa (11-0) has signed with the UFC and will debut at UFC on FUEL TV 5.

Manuwa made the announcement via his twitter account and UFC officials confirmed the signing on Thursday.

The UFC had offered Manuwa contracts twice in the past and both times he had turned them down. He suggested that he needed more experience.

The 32 year old made his MMA debut back in 2008 after just three months of training. He is the reigning UCMMA Light Heavyweight Champions and has defended the belt an astounding five times. He most recently TKO’d Anthony Rea at BAMMA 8.

While no opponent has been named yet, UFC on FUEL TV 5 will go down on Sept. 29 at Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England.
