The Ultimate Fighter Live: Episode 12 report

We begin with a highlight-reel showing off last episode before we go to the house as Chris Tickle is up to his shenanigans again throwing a bottle at the groin of Daren Cruikshank.

The avid kickboxer reacted quickly chased him down and punched him as he was cornered against the wall but no action was taken against this despite fighters in the past being removed from the show for similar situations.

UFC President Dana White makes the announcement that all these guys will fight on the UFC Ultimate Finale event except Andy Ogle and Mike Rio who are suffering injuries.

We cut to a training session of James Vick and Mike Chiesa who has a breakdown, understandably so the loss of his father is still affecting him before the biggest fight of his career.

James Vick vs. Michael Chiesa

Vick comes out using his leg kick to great effect as Chiesa is looking to get in his face and not allow him to stay at bay with a series of strikes before he initiates a clinch as both men scramble for dominate position before a break is forced.  Vick is getting more comfortable on his feet throwing punches in bunches as he stalks his big bearded foe – The round concludes with him in top position seeking a mounted guillotine but he’s saved by the bell.

MMASucka.com awards the first round to Team Cruz’s James Vick, 10-9.

Vick opens as the aggressor again but Chiesa is having success counter striking with his lanky frame, Vick presses the action and clocks Vick with a sharp jab that floors him but he is unable to capitalize on it before the Team Faber product is back on his feet. Chiesa gets a takedown and winds up in side control, quickly avoids a guillotine attempt from Vick before he steps over into mount and rains down some punishment to get a place in the finals.

We cut to a quick training session for both Vinc Pichel and Al Iaquenta as both men prepare for their semi-final bout.

Vinc Pichel vs. Al Iaquenta

Iaquinta is throwing front kicks to keep him at distance before shooting for a takedown and getting it after a real struggle winding up against the cage with the back of Pichel in an awkward spot before Pichel stands up and we resume striking. Iaquinta again uses his kicks to keep distance as Pichel is looking to move forward but Iaquinta is constantly moving.

Pichel begins to get in some offense using his leg kick as well but the length of his Team  Faber opponent continues to bother him before Iaquinta takes him down landing in a butterfly guard before landing a series of strikes that initiates a scramble against the cage before we return stranding for the final seconds.

MMASucka.com scores the first round for Team Faber’s Iaquinta, 10-9.

Pichel opens as the aggressor pressuring Iaquinta who continues to throw his leg kick, they continue to have a highly competitive brawl before the mouth piece of Iaqunta causes a pause in action. The range of Iaquinta again bothers Vick as he counter-strikes scoring with his powerful uppercut. As we are nearing the end of the round with neither getting a distinct upper-hand Vick is getting in close and landing strikes as Iaquinta pressures for a takedown grabbing his leg but Vick pounds his forehead with strikes and throws a kick to get him off.

MMASucka.com scores the second round for Team Faber’s Iaquinta 10-9.

We close the show with Dana White as we announce Al Iaquinta vs. Michael Chiesa.
