“The California Kid” is going to Boston to, and he’s got “Marajo” waiting for him.
Both Bleacher Report and the Torque MMA Facebook page are reporting that the bout is set, though the UFC has yet to officially confirm.
“The California Kid” Urijah Faber (28-6) is on another winning streak. The former WEC featherweight champion has started another tear at bantamweight, with two consecutive rear-naked choke submission victories over cagey veterans Ivan Menjivar and Scott Jorgenson. The powerful wrestler is known to dominate in non-title matches, and is looking to keep that record going. Will he be able to against the finish-minded Alcantara?
Iuri “Marajo” Alcantara (28-4) comes into this bout with a KO victory over Iliarde Santos at UFC on FX 8. A skilled striker and grappler, Alcantara has 12 submission and 12 (T)KO victories to his name, including a TKO win off of a front kick to the body against Manuel Moraes at a 2010 Jungle Fights event. Will he be able to bring his skills to bear against the bantamweight division’s “alpha” wrestler?
