The 23-year-old is one of Asia’s tallest Featherweight fighters and has to date, fought over twenty times in his professional Mixed Martial Arts career.

While Chope remains as an unknown talent in the eyes of most North American UFC faithfuls, he is somewhat of a superstar in the Asian MMA scene, having made appearances for a myriad of promotions within the region.

The American heads into Saturday’s affair with a fourteen-fight win streak under his belt. He most recently featured at PXC 39, where he picked up a third round TKO victory over former King of Pancrase, Takumi Nakayama. Unbeknownst to most people, the 23-year-old has gained somewhat of a reputation in the region for his ability to finish fights as well, with 16 of his 19 wins coming by way of TKO or submission.

His toughest challenge awaits him on Saturday night, though, when he locks horns with the aforementioned Max Holloway. Although Holloway finds himself on a two-fight losing skid, the Hawaiian still remains as one of the organization’s hottest prospects. Chope will undoubtedly have his hands full in this intriguing Featherweight encounter.

MMASucka.com’s Thinesh John had the opportunity to catch up with Chope just days prior to the fight.

Chope talked about his dream of fighting in the UFC, facing Max Holloway, his training camp leading up to the bout and more.
