At Saturday’s TUF 16 Finale the people at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas were treated to some fantastic finishes. Nine of the eleven bouts were stoppages, with six of them coming by way of knockout.
The main event was a heavyweight tussle between Roy “Big Country” Nelson and Matt Mitrione. Nelson made quick work of Mitrione and finished him by TKO in the very first round. This marked the first time Mitrione had been stopped in his very young MMA career.
The co-main event was the TUF 16 Finals and featured Mike Ricci vs. Colton Smith. Ricci came into the fight a 2-to-1 favorite, however Smith showed an outstanding game-plan and dominated the Canadian for all three rounds en route to a unanimous decision victory.
