World Series of Fighting signs former UFC fighter Jacob Volkmann

Just last week lightweight fighter Jacob Volkmann was released from the UFC and it didn’t take long for him to find a new home.

Volkmann has signed a multi-fight contract with World Series of Fighting. MMAFighting.com first announced the signing and MMASucka.com later confirmed.

Volkmann (15-4) most recently lost to Bobby Green by rear naked choke earlier this month at UFC 156. “Christmas” made his UFC debut in 2009 and started with two straight losses, however he followed up by going on a five fight winning streak. In his last three outings the lightweight went 1-2.

The Minnesota native is expected to debut with the organization this June at WSOF’s third event.
