World Series of Fighting (WSOF) has announced the signing of two featherweight prospects in the form of undefeated Russian Bekbulat Magomedov and submission Ace Alexandre “Popo” Bezerra, both have been signed to ‘exclusive, multi-fight agreements’.
Neither fighter’s promotional debut has been announced.
“We are pleased to welcome Bekbulat and Alexandre to our stable of world-class athletes, and look forward to seeing how they stack up against our mix of talented and accomplished featherweights,” said World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo.
Magomedov (16-0) is a 24-year-old prospect from Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia who is a seasoned Sambo specialist. Of his 16 win, 11 of those are finishes, including 8 (T)KO. A pro since 2011, Magomedov is currently the #2 ranked featherweight in the Ukraine as well as the #7 ranked featherweight in Russia. He holds notable wins over prospects Denis Mutsnek and Guan Wang. Magaomedov is the only one to beat Wang in 17-fights.
Bezerra (17-4) fights out of Philadelphia by way of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Of his 17 wins, 11 have come by way of submission courtesy of his jiu-itsu black belt coupled with his wrestling ability. Bezerra broke onto the MMA scene in 2008, where he amassed an 8-1 record in just over two years of being a professional. He is a veteran of the Bellator cage, going 7-2 in the promotion over the span of about two years. His only two losses are split decisions to both Marlon Sandro and Mike Richman.
