Yaotzin Meza steps in for Hacran Dias to face Chad Mendes at UFC on FX 6

A featherweight bout between Yaotzin Meza and Chad Mendes is set for UFC on FX 6, as Meza steps in for an injured Hacran Dias.

UFC officials announced the bout on Monday.

The Meza vs. Mendes bout will be the featured fight on the FUEL TV prelims.

Meza (18-7) is coming into the UFC losing his last fight, however prior to that he was on a six fight winning streak. He trains with Benson Henderson at The MMA Lab in Phoenix, Arizona.

Mendes (12-1) came back from his loss to Jose Aldo for the featherweight title with a big knockout win over Cody McKenzie at UFC 148. The Team Alpha Male product will look to move back up the ladder in the featherweight division with a win over Meza.

UFC on FX 6 goes down from the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Australia on December 14.
