On Saturday night, Kalindra Faria will take to the WSOF decagon in a women’s battle against Jessica Aguilar for the WSOF strawweight championship.

Despite Faria being under contract with XFC, the World Series of Fighting still managed to get her to agree to enter the cage for the title.

XFC filing legal suit against WSOF, as Kalindra Faria is under contract

On Friday, XFC President, Myron Molotky released the following statement:

XFC has an exclusive contract with Ms. Kalindra Faria, which XFC provided to WSOF. Not withstanding the clear terms of Ms. Faria’s exclusive contract with XFC, WSOF has made it clear it intends to proceed with Ms. Faria’s bout planned for this weekend.

There is no question that XFC has a valid contract with Ms. Faria and that her fighting in a WSOF match this weekend violates XFC’s rights under that contract.

As a consequence of WSOF’s actions, XFC is filing suit against WSOF today in the United States District Court in Tampa. XFC is seeking to enforce its rights to the fullest extent of the law.

WSOF 15 goes down on Saturday November 15 from Tampa, Florida. In the main event, David Branch will look to defend his middleweight title against Yushin Okami and in the co-main event, Justin Gaethje battles Melvin Guillard for the lightweight strap.
