UFC officials announced the matchup on Tuesday.

Dos Santos (17-3) got back into the winning column last December with a close decision win over Stipe Miocic. Prior to that, he was dominated for the second time against then-champ Cain Velasquez.

Overeem (39-14, 1 NC) has won two-straight including a recent unanimous decision win over Roy Nelson at UFC 185 and a big TKO win over top 15 Stefan Struve late last year. His last loss was a first-round knockout loss to Ben Rothwell last September at UFC Fight Night 50.

UFC on FOX 17 takes place live from the Amway Center in Orlando, FL on Dec. 19. In the main event, UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos faces Donald Cerrone.
