Although the main event has yet to be announced for UFC 145 scheduled for March 2012 in Montreal, there is a lot to look forward to with the addition of two heavyweight bouts: Brendan Schaub versus Ben Rothwell and Chad Griggs versus Travis Browne.
Brendan Schaub will be looking to rebound from a knockout loss against Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira at UFC 134 in Brazil. Prior to the loss he had won 4 in a row including a knock out victory against Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipović.
Ben Rothwell, 1-2 in the UFC, is also coming off a loss, dropping his last bout by decision against Mark Hunt at UFC 135. Rothwell has had a tough battle with injuries and has only fought three times since starting his UFC career in October 2009. This will be his shortest turnaround between UFC bouts.
Hawaii native, Travis Browne, had won his last bout against Rob Broughton at UFC 135 but was disappointed that the fight went to a judges decision. He proved he has the stopping power in his hands after his spectacular knockout finish against Stefan Struve in May, and will hope to do the same to his opponent Chad Griggs.
Chad Griggs is coming into the UFC though Strikeforce’s heavyweight roster integration. Griggs has amassed a 3-0 record in Strikeforce including a notable underdog technical knockout win against former WWE professional wrestler Bobby Lashley.
