Nick Diaz temporarily suspended by NSAC

The Nick Diaz saga continues, last month following his unsuccessful bid to become the UFC interim welterweight champion, losing to Greg Jackson product Carlos Condit.

Several days later the news broke that Diaz had tested positive for marijuana use for the second time in his career, the first time came in 2007 following his submission victory over consensus top-ranked lightweight Takanori Gomi.

A temporary suspension of his fight license has been handed down to Diaz on the Wednesday meeting following his UFC 143 positive test.

The request was made by Christopher Eccles, the Nevada deputy Attorney General and the commission unanimously agreed — A follow up disciplinary meeting will be scheduled in the future with Diaz getting a chance to defend his usage of his favorite herb.
