“Big Country” lands the over-hand right to finish Herman in the first round

|

No one expected this fight to go to a decision and that it didn’t. However, i’m sure most people didn’t expect it to end with the first punch. Herman landed a kick to the body, but didn’t faze Nelson. “Big Country” then delivers his go-to over-hand right and crumbled Dave Herman. He threw one more bomb before the referee stepped in.

Roy Nelson def. Dave Herman by KO at 0:51 of Round 1

Roy Nelson

“My plan was to wrestle. My coaches had a different game plan which was “hit him in the face,” guess it worked. Clearly my hands have dynamite in them or small rock or whatever. I have to congratulate Dave for stepping up and fighting me. Everyone kept dropping out. I think it’s clear to everyone that the fans are here to see me and not the UFC. Now I’m going to Carl’s Jr. and getting a western bacon cheeseburger.”

Dave Herman

“I just got caught with a punch. The elbow hurts but other than that I’m feeling fine…just not my night.”
